The Old Shiloh Cemetery, located in Rusk County, Texas, is more than just a burial site; it’s a place of memories and a connection to our past. Each visit carries significance. For many, it’s a time to reflect, to express love, and to remember. That’s why maintaining the dignity of this sacred site is so vital.

Please respect the rules for Old Shiloh Cemetery:
Keep all cars, trucks, and vehicles out of the Cemetery.
Do not plant or set out: Trees, Shrubbery, or Flowers in the Cemetery.
Do not place benches, chairs, or stools in the Cemetery.
Do not build copings (walls) of any kind in the Cemetery.
Do not place rocks, gravel, GLASS, bricks or fence on or around the graves or lots.
All stakes will be removed, as they are hazardous.
There is a limit of six reserved burial spaces per family plot.
The old flowers and standing easels will be removed from the Cemetery. Any items placed must be able to fit ON THE BASE of the monument (excluding floral arrangements) – other items will be removed. Flags, other than “stick flags”, are not allowed.
Burials are permitted after the funeral director in charge confirms the reserved burial plot location with the Cemetery Sexton.
The Sexton MUST BE CONTACTED before any burial, placement of markers/monuments, removal or change of location of any grave.
Any placement of Markers / Monuments must have prior approval and be marked for placement by the Cemetery Sexton. Any item placed on the grave site, other than at the head, must be at ground level.
For any individual to open and close a grave in Shiloh Cemetery, he/she will agree to the terms by completing and signing our Grave Opening and Closing Permit prior to any work grave opening. Thus, grave opening companies are required to read and sign the permit prior to working in Old Shiloh Cemetery. It requires that they work with the cemetery sexton to leave the grave closure as described by the permit. The permit is of no charge. Review Funeral Home / Permit Letter for additional details.
Effective July 1, 20024 - Fees for site maintenance shall be increased to $70 per grave to help reduce the overall need for donations that offset the costs of maintenance for a new grave and the ongoing care of the new grave site. Review Maintenance Fee Letter for additional details.
Effective July 1, 2007 – Plots will be marked with identifiable granite markers, provided by the committee, at a fee* of $50 per plot, when making initial reservation. *Fee Subject to Change as Market dictates.
